Welcome to First United Methodist Church
We are a group of average, everyday, ordinary people who live and work all around the Pekin area, including virtually every other community that surrounds Pekin. We struggle to make ends meet, to go to our kids’ activities, to be good citizens and family people.
But mostly, we want to be Christians. We know God loves us and we want to share that with anyone who will give us the chance; not just by telling you about Jesus, but also by showing you how caring, compassionate, outgoing and loving we can be.
We have wonderful worship every Saturday and Sunday, there’s no dress code and children are welcome to everything. We also have an excellent nursery with a professional nursery coordinator who will love and care for your children while you worship and/or attend any of our 6 adult Sunday School classes. And we have Sunday School for students of every age.
At First Church we love the Lord and live by the standard set in I Peter 3:8 NLT “…all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters.” I hope this will encourage you to come be part of our fellowship. We have choirs, small groups, workshops, Sunday School, Bible studies and we’ll do whatever God wants to help this be a place where you can find the Lord.

Hi Terry,
I really like the new website. (At least, it was new to me). I just re-read the messenger and was reminded about the greeters. If you are still in need of people to greet early service, I am sure that is something I would enjoy — You know how I LOVE to talk. If that isn’t a need anymore Praise the Lord.
